therikeone replied to your post: You can thank Mr. Hubble for noticing the expansion of the universe, he saw changes in wavelengths from galaxies caused by redshit, calculated the moving of nearby galaxies and ergo expansion! It wasn’t until recently though that we discovered the expansion is actually accelerating, BAM dark energy.

The more further away an object, the more redshifted it is.

I think it’s that!
