It wasn’t until recently though that we discovered the expansion is actually accelerating, BAM dark energy.

I know about Hubble, and he discovered that the universe is expanding, but what about acceleration? Do we see more of a redshift in more distant objects?

erexthedino said: We can even tell how far away a galaxy is by measuring the speed it is moving away from us. While combasems is right about the fact that dark energy is the matter that causes the acceleration, we saw acceleration before we decided it was dark energy.
