I don’t think I can accurately answer that. If it wasn’t for the internet I wouldn’t have found out about him, so it does make a lot of his words and works more readily available. I can’t really say anything about his popularity, though. I know that parts of Reddit have inflated his image to make him into a voice for cannabis legalization, and that could count. But I still don’t think I’m qualified to answer this. I didn’t experience the world before the internet came about.
